Which Strapsicle Straps Fit the New 2026 Kindles?

Just popping in with the question that's filled our inbox since Amazon announced its new Kindles on 1 October: will Strapsicle straps fit?

Here's the short version. Strapsicle straps fit the new Kindle Basic 2026, the 6-inch one. We've tried our Small strap on it and it fits well, with a slightly more relaxed hold than our usual snug fit. Amazon calls it "the all-new Kindle". We call it the Kindle Basic 2026 to tell it apart from earlier Basics. We haven't had the new Paperwhite or Colorsoft in our hands yet, so we haven't tested those, but our Large strap will fit them. We'll share photos once we have them. Below is exactly what we know, what we expect, and what's still to confirm.

Do Strapsicle straps fit the new Kindle 2026?

Yes on the new 6-inch Kindle, as a relaxed fit. We've tested our Small strap on it and it fits well, just a bit more relaxed than our usual snug hold. Adding a clear case makes it snugger. Our Large strap will fit the new Paperwhite and Colorsoft too, and we'll share photos once we have them in hand.

What is the new Kindle Basic 2026, and what has changed?

Amazon announced three new Kindles on 1 October 2026. Amazon hasn't given the new entry-level model a generation number, so we're calling it the Kindle Basic 2026 here. The 6-inch Kindle is available now. Amazon says it's thinner and lighter, has a flush-front display, a newly designed reverse-stack display construction, and opens books 30% faster than the previous release. Battery life is up to 6 weeks.

There's a standard version and an aluminium version. The Paperwhite and Colorsoft are on preorder.

Prices are Amazon's US prices from its announcement, so check your local Amazon store for your own price. Amazon also has Kids versions of all three, from $179.99.

What colours do the new Kindles come in?

The Kindle Basic 2026 comes in Ube and Graphite, and the aluminium version in Alpine Sky and Seaglass Green. The Paperwhite comes in Graphite, and the Paperwhite Signature Edition in Graphite and Seaglass Green. The Colorsoft comes in Graphite, and the Colorsoft Signature Edition in Graphite and Fig.

Which Strapsicle strap fits the new Kindle Basic 2026?

The Small strap. We've tried it and it fits the 6-inch Kindle Basic 2026, with a slightly more relaxed hold than usual, because the new Kindle is slightly different in size to earlier Kindle Basic models. A clear case on the Kindle makes it snugger. A MoKo clear case is already available for it, and with that on, our strap sits better.

We'd rather tell you that now than have you find out on day one. And if you're on an older Kindle Basic, the Kindle Basic collection is still the place to start.

Will Strapsicle straps fit the new Kindle Paperwhite and Colorsoft?

Yes, our Large strap will fit the new Kindle Paperwhite and Colorsoft, including both Signature Editions. Both new models are still on preorder, so we haven't had them in our hands yet. We'll share photos of the straps on them as soon as they land, and add them to this page.

New Kindle Paperwhite 2026 vs Colorsoft: what's the difference?

The Paperwhite is the classic black and white reader, from $199.99, and Amazon quotes up to 12 weeks of battery. The Colorsoft adds a colour display from $289.99, which Amazon describes as paper-like colour without a tablet's glare. Both have a flush-front display. Amazon hasn't given us a Colorsoft battery figure, so we're leaving that out.

For a strap, they take the same size: Large.

Is it worth buying an older Kindle instead?

It can be. Older models often get marked down when new ones land, so it's worth checking the current price on Amazon. A current-generation Kindle plus a Strapsicle is a lovely setup, and the fit on those is already tested. Not sure which Kindle you have? The Find Your Fit guide lets you pick your exact model and tells you your size.
